The Albuquerque Collegiate Difference:
Albuquerque Collegiate is built upon the best practices of high-performing, charter schools nationwide. These charter schools have a proven track record of academic success and have demonstrated that all students can succeed and graduate from competitive and demanding colleges.
There are 4 critical components of our school that will be innovative and unique:
Extended school day
- 8:00am-4:00pm schedule, which is an additional 418 minutes of instruction weekly, and equates to students earning the equivalent of 42 additional instructional days over the course of the school year.
Low student-to-teacher ratio
- 15:1 student-to-teacher ratio, with two teachers in all kindergarten through 2nd grade classrooms
Prioritized and expanded focus on literacy and math
- Albuquerque Collegiate will provide about 15% more time for mathematics instruction, and 2.3 times more literacy instruction each week
A comprehensive coaching and professional development program for staff
- 3 week intensive summer training, 1.5 hours of professional development each week, 8 data days during the school year, and weekly teacher observations and coaching sessions.
